I paid $150 to sleep in a 260-square-foot 'tentalow' on a Hawaiian seaside. Subsequent time, I'll return with a much bigger group.

  • I not too long ago went glamping in a 260-square-foot “tentalow” at Camp Olowalu in Hawaii for $150.
  • I received an oceanfront house with an alfresco bathe and entry to a bathroom with operating water.
  • It was a stress-free keep and I would prefer to return — I simply want it was positioned on a greater seaside.

As a seasoned explorer of unconventional lodging — resembling a transformed horse trailer and questionable camper van —I used to be desperate to attempt going glamping in a “tentalow,” a tent and bungalow hybrid.

For my glamping journey I visited Camp Olowalu on the island of Maui. The campground was established in 1955, although it is undergone many adjustments over time. Right this moment it gives an array of lodgings at varied value factors, from automotive or tent tenting for $30 an evening to a collective of six cabins for $1,650 an evening.

This is what it was like to remain within the 260-square-foot house, and why I am enthusiastic about returning with extra pals subsequent time.
